Simple Scissors Case photo tutorial

Thank you for purchasing my scissors case, or considering it! Below is a photo tutorial of the steps to make this case. I designed this case before I bought my Cricut Maker and have made many of these by hand cutting. I do love the Cricut Maker for its accuracy, but you definitely don’t have to have a fancy machine to make these fun scissors cases! The downloadable pattern with SVG, as well as materials kits, are available in my Etsy shop - Diana Couture Studio.

The first part of this tutorial involves using the Cricut Maker to cut the cases. Cutting by hand is fairly self explanatory.

  1. Cut the rectangle pieces to the dimensions stated in the pattern. Iron the paper-backed fusing to the wrong side of the inner body (I use felted wool).

  2. Affix the pieces to the appropriate Cricut mat for the materials you use. I use the fabric mat for the felted wool and the strong grip for the cork or vinyl. The Kraft-Tex paper works well on the standard grip mat. Roll over the materials with a brayer to get them nice and stuck to the mat. Then place masking or painter’s tape around all edges of the materials.
